Large custom homes, long eaves and heavy canyon snow. Thirty-five minutes from Sandy.

Highland is large custom and semi-custom homes on half-acre and acre lots along the bench below American Fork Canyon and Lone Peak. Those homes have long, complex rooflines with a lot of corners and square footage draining to each eave, they sit in heavy snow and canyon wind, and their owners usually want the gutters to look like part of the house, which means six-inch profiles, dark bronze or copper and careful downspout placement.
SwiftHand Gutters serves Highland weekly with Alpine, American Fork, Cedar Hills and Lehi. We install six-inch seamless aluminum, steel under metal roofs, copper and half-round where the architecture calls for it, and heat tape on the shaded eaves that build ice every January.

Capacity. A Highland roof can send several thousand square feet of catchment to a single eave, and a five-inch gutter overflows in spring melt or a summer cloudburst. Six-inch gutters with three-by-four downspouts, placed every thirty to forty feet rather than only at the corners, are the baseline. The bench gets heavy snow and sits in cold shade under Lone Peak, so .032 gauge, close hanger spacing and heat tape on north- and east-facing runs are standard, and metal roofs get snow guards above the gutter line.
Wind down American Fork Canyon strap-tests every downspout on the east side of Highland, so we strap at every elbow. Many Highland homes have stone, stucco and timber exteriors where gutter color matters; we carry the dark bronzes, blacks and clays those homes use and install copper when the owner wants it to last a lifetime. Highland Glen and several newer subdivisions have HOA rules we handle with the sample ring and their form.

Almost always on the main eaves. The roof areas and snow load are larger than a five-inch gutter can handle in spring melt.
