Historic East Bench homes, heavy bench snow and the north end of our route. About an hour from Sandy.

Ogden has the largest stock of historic homes north of Salt Lake City. The East Bench, Jefferson Avenue, the Eccles neighborhood and the streets above 25th Street have Victorians, bungalows and Tudors from the 1890s through the 1930s, many with original wood fascia and crown molding under gutters that have been patched for decades. South Ogden, Shadow Valley and the Mount Ogden Park area are fifties through eighties homes on the bench; North Ogden and Pleasant View sit against Ben Lomond in some of the heaviest snow in the county.
SwiftHand Gutters serves Ogden every week on our northern route with Layton, Clearfield and Roy. We install half-round and copper on historic homes, K-style seamless aluminum sized for bench snow, repair fascia before anything goes up, and strap everything for the wind off the lake.

The East Bench is steep, old and snowy. Roofs there shed snow in slabs that crush light gutters, so we spec .032 gauge, hangers on twelve to sixteen-inch centers and, on metal roofs, snow guards above the gutter line. Ice dams on north-facing eaves are routine from Shadow Valley to North Ogden, and heat tape is a regular line. Historic homes get half-round aluminum or copper on rod hangers where the architecture calls for it, and we replace rotted fascia sections with primed wood that keeps the original profile.
West of Washington Boulevard the city is flatter, windier and newer. Wind off the lake strap-tests downspouts along the west side and in Roy and West Haven, and the flat lots need extensions or buried drainage to keep roof water away from foundations. Ogden’s older neighborhoods have some of the oldest street trees in Utah, so micro-mesh guards or the maintenance plan come up on most estimates, and we work with the many landlords and property managers in the city on per-property maintenance.
Prices are published on our pricing page and are the same in Ogden as anywhere else we work. Estimates are free, measured on site and itemized by the foot.

We water test every section, haul away the old gutters and hand you the seven-year workmanship warranty.
